Healthy to a Tee
Guys – golf may be a low-impact sport, but significant stress is repeatedly placed on the same muscles, tendons and joints in order to execute a golf swing. Over time, this can result in injury to the lower back, elbow, wrist and hand, and shoulder. If you are not drinking enough fluids when it’s hot outside, you risk becoming dehydrated. Repeated bouts of dehydration can lead to disorders of the urinary tract and kidney problems. Don’t let complications on the course handicap your life or golf game. Join our experts for a fun, informative event focused on men’s health to keep you swinging on the course.
- Arif Saleem, MD, orthopaedic surgeon with Castle Orthopaedics, as he discusses the mechanics behind your golf swing and how to reduce your risk of injury.
- Jonathan Huang, MD, urologist with Rush Copley Medical Group, will give tips on keeping hydrated on the course to prevent other complications such as disorders of the urinary tract and kidney problems.
- Brian Hilko, golf professional at Orchard Valley Golf Course, will share proper techniques on the driving range for preventing injuries and improving your score.
A continental breakfast will be served and attendees will be registered to win a foursome of golf at Orchard Valley Golf Course. Limited seating available, registration is required.
