Introducing Rush Copley's Patient and Family Advisory Council
Rush Copley’s Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) includes patients, family members, community members and hospital staff that volunteer their time to be advisors. Our goal is to strengthen collaboration between patients, family members and the healthcare team. What we learn should lead to improvement in our patients’ experiences while delivering the highest standard of safe, comprehensive and compassionate healthcare.
What are we looking for in a Patient and Family Advisory Council member?
We are seeking individuals who represent a cross-section of our community and who have received care at Rush Copley Medical Center. Patients who were hospitalized or utilized outpatient services are eligible to apply for the council. We are also seeking patients’ family members to provide insight to the council.
Why should you serve?
- Help others by sharing your ideas and experiences regarding Rush Copley. Your input helps us to learn and improve the way we communicate and deliver personal care.
- Your opinion matters. Council members can influence the direction of activities, services and policies at the hospital, such as new programs or facility usage. You can help shape how services and policies unfold.
- Learn more about programs that may benefit you or your family members.
- Make a difference. This is your opportunity to create positive change in the lives of individuals and their families.
Sharing your thoughts and your experiences with the hospital can help ensure that the decisions made by Rush Copley are informed ones.
How long will I be on the PFAC and what is the time commitment?
The PFAC will meet every other month for approximately 90 minutes. We will provide a meal prior to each meeting. We are asking council members to make a two-year commitment.
