Effective Team Communication

Rush Copley's health care culture fosters respectful, effective communication across all levels of the organization.  Nurses build strong, supportive relationships with fellow nurses, clinical coordinators, physicians and other providers to work together to deliver safe, coordinated care that results in the best possible patient outcomes.

Our nurses’ ratings place us in the top 25 percent of hospitals nationwide for teamwork and for physician respect for nurses’ contributions.

Shared Decision-Making

Nursing's voices are heard at Rush Copley. Because we practice shared governance, our nurses are encouraged to speak up about and help find solutions to issues that affect patient care and their daily work.

Unit Partnership Councils

Unit partnership council helps to develop and promote unit-based policies, guidelines and practice standards that enhance patient care.


To foster discussion and problem resolution, nurses are encouraged to be member of one of Rush Copley’s house-wide congresses.  These congresses bring together representatives from multiple clinical areas to oversee nursing practice, education, research and innovation, leadership and the quality of patient care and support a positive, healthy work environment.
