Benefits of Magnet Recognition

Research demonstrates that Magnet-recognized organizations are commonly shown to have higher patient satisfaction with nurse communication, lower patient mortality rates, higher job satisfaction among nurses and increased nurse retention rates.

To receive Magnet recognition, hospitals undergo a vigorous evaluation that involves participation from leadership, staff and care providers from across the organization. The Magnet appraisal team toured 27 units, met with more than 200 staff members, 25 community members, and many physicians during a site visit held in November.
