Rush Copley Earns Top Hospital Award Hospital one of 10 in Illinois to achieve elite status
Rush Copley Medical Center has been named a Top Hospital by The Leapfrog Group. With a commitment to quality care and patient safety, Rush Copley Medical Center earned top honors for safety from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national hospital watchdog organization. In fact, Rush Copley is one of only ten hospitals in Illinois to be named a Top Hospital, and one of only three hospitals in the state to be named a Top Teaching Hospital.
“Our physicians and staff are focused on providing quality service and care that’s delivered with the highest standards of safety,” said Barry C. Finn, president and CEO of Rush-Copley. “This recognition is a testament to the strong culture of safety and advanced medicine and compassionate care that patients experience at Rush-Copley.”
The Leapfrog Group, an independent non-profit hospital watchdog organization, recently announced the recipients of the 2016 Top Hospital award, an elite national distinction given to hospitals with the highest quality in the nation. Performance across significant areas of hospital care, including safety, surgical outcomes, maternity care, and leadership is considered in establishing the qualifications for the award. Data is gathered and publicly reported through the Leapfrog Hospital Survey.
“Being acknowledged as a Top Hospital is an incredible feat achieved by less than three percent of hospitals nationwide,” said Leah Binder, president and CEO of The Leapfrog Group. “With this honor, Rush Copley has established its commitment to safer and higher quality care. Providing this level of care to patients requires motivation and drive from every team member. I congratulate the board, staff and clinicians, whose efforts made this honor possible.”
