Rush-Copley Medical Group Welcomes Joyce Garcia-Gonzalez, APN, CNM
(Aurora, Ill.) Rush-Copley Medical Group welcomes board-certified midwife, Joyce Garcia-Gonzalez, APN, CNM. She joins Isabelle Guillou, APN, CNM and Karen Barr, APN, CNM in practice.
Joyce received her nursing degree from the University of Illinois in Chicago and completed her graduate degree at the University of Illinois, Chicago. She is board-certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives. Prior to becoming a midwife, Joyce was a labor and delivery nurse for 15 years.
Joyce has special interests in well-women care, health counseling from adolescence through menopause, preconception care and counseling, prenatal care, labor support, personalized birth plans, waterbirth, postpartum care, breastfeeding support and family planning education.

Certified nurse midwives (CNMs) are licensed healthcare practitioners educated in nursing and midwifery. CNMs provide primary care to women of child bearing age including prenatal care, labor and delivery care, care after birth and gynecological care. Midwives can also assist with family planning decisions, preconception care, menopausal management and counsel on health maintenance and disease prevention.
