One-Ton Oxygen Chambers Delivered to Rush-Copley
Chambers part of new Rush Copley Wound Care Center
(Aurora, Ill.) – Today, Rush Copley received two hyperbaric oxygen chambers for the new Rush Copley Wound Care Center. The chambers, weighing 1,992 pounds each, were safely lifted to the third floor of Rush-Copley's new center on the Aurora campus.
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is one of the state-of-the-art treatment practices which will be offered at the center. Others include negative pressure therapies, bioengineered tissues and biosynthetics. Chronic wounds affect more than 8 million people in the U.S. and the incidence is rising fueled by an aging population and increasing rates of diseases and conditions such as diabetes, obesity and the late effects of radiation therapy.
Rush Copley Wound Care Center is scheduled to open later this month for patient care.
