The Rush-Copley Cancer Center offers its patients access to some of the latest cancer research studies designed to find better ways to fight cancer. These studies help physicians discover promising new approaches to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment that are safe and effective. These studies test different types of treatment, such as new drugs or new approaches to surgery or radiation therapy.

Cancer research studies help doctors understand the behavior of cancer: how it grows, why it is spreading, how to halt or prevent tumor growth. These advances cannot be made without the assistance of patients willing to act as participants.  The research studies at Rush-Copley are available as part of a nationwide network of cancer research centers. This network allows patients to receive cutting edge treatment close to home instead of traveling to a large academic center. The studies offered involve hundreds, sometimes thousands, of participants from across the country and around the globe.
