Your Care Team

Nurses

Rush-Copley emergency nurses are required to obtain training in emergency medicine, which is something that sets us apart from other hospitals, in four specialty areas:

  • Trauma Care
  • Mobile Intensive Care: prepares nurses to give medical directions to paramedics and emergency medical technicians (EMTs)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support: allows nurses to care for adult patients with serious heart problems
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support: for the care of children with critical care needs

Clinical Associates

Paramedics, EMTs, nursing students and other clinical associates assist doctors and nurses by providing patients' basic treatment needs (such as blood tests and simple wound care). These people help our patients receive treatment in a quick and complete manner.

Support Staff

Other staff maintain patients' records, file orders for medications, schedule tests and assist families with financial concerns about patients' care. Reception desk staff and hospital volunteers are always available to answer questions and offer assistance.

Doctors

We are pleased to have the independent physicians of EMPact Emergency Physicians, LLC staffing the Rush-Copley Emergency Department.  All of the EMPact physicians, the leaders of your healthcare team, are Board Certified or Board Prepared.  As a group they have over 100 years of experience in providing Emergency Services to the patients in our community.  Many hold faculty appointments and are actively engaged in the teaching of physicians, nurses and paramedics.  This high quality medical care coupled with a strong focus on patient satisfaction is the hallmark of the Emergency physician at Rush-Copley Medical Center.
