What is a certified nurse midwife? Certified nurse midwives (CNM's) are licensed health care practitioners educated in the two disciplines of nursing and midwifery. They provide primary care to women of child bearing age including; prenatal care, labor and delivery care, care after birth and gynecological care. Midwives can also help you with family planning decisions, preconception care, menopausal mangement and counsel you on health maintenance and disease prevention. Back to Top

What if a complication arises during labor and delivery? If a complication arises during your delivery one of the expert physicians from Rush-Copley OB/GYNE Associates is on call to assist in the delivery. Back to Top
Do the midwives perform VBACs (Vaginal Births After Cesarean)? No, midwives do not perform VBACs. If this is your birthing plan you will need to choose one of our physicians at Rush-Copley OB/GYNE Associates
