Rush-Copley Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgical Consultants Welcomes Omar Habib, M.D.
Dr. Habib is a cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon who has joined Todd Guynn, M.D., in practice at Rush-Copley Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgical Consultants.
Dr. Habib is a native of Illinois. He received his undergraduate degree at Northwestern University and his doctor of medicine degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his general surgery residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, where he devoted a year to research in heart failure. His cardiothoracic surgery fellowship was completed in 2007 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Habib continued his surgical training by completing an endovascular and cardiovascular fellowship at The Methodist Hospital in Houston, Texas. Most recently, he was an attending cardiothoracic surgeon in Washington state.
He is a member of the American College of Surgeons, American Medical Association, American College of Cardiology, Roy D. McClure Surgical Society and the Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society.
His interests include valve surgery, thoracic oncology, minimally invasive surgery, and endovascular surgery.
