Ultrasound

Mothers and Fathers to be can undergo their prenatal ultrasounds (link to prep) in a private suite equipped with wall mounted monitors for maximal visual enjoyment during the scanning phase.  Each family leaves with a collection of “first baby photos” to bring home and show the rest of the clan!  Three dimensional (3-D) images are routinely acquired in all patients after 17 weeks gestation as part of the routine exam, without added cost.

Breast Ultrasound Breast Ultrasound is used to complement mammography, utilizing sound wave technology to evaluate tissue characteristics.  It is not sensitive enough to replace mammography as a screening tool all by itself, but instead is used to further characterize abnormalities detected on mammography, physical exam or breast MRI. Because it utilizes sound waves to form the image, one of the advantages of breast ultrasound is the lack of any radiation exposure.
