Physical Therapy

Neurological, orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions may benefit from the services of physical therapy to address strength, balance and limited motion. Our staff have varied specializations and certifications to work with patients who are experiencing functional limitations that impact their quality of life.

Concussion Management

A comprehensive evaluation and individualized treatment  plan after a concussion may include; a neurocognitive assessment, balance testing and integration of our Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP)  for feedback on postural control, limits of stability and dynamic vision. This integrated approach to assessing and treating patients after a concussion my assist in determining safe return to work or sports and reduce the risk of second impact syndrome.

Computerized Dynamic Posturography (CDP)

Through the use of state of the art technology, our specially trained staff can accurately assess balance and dizziness  disorders. The vestibular system is the integration of our senses to determine where our body is in space, this incorporates vision, the inner ear, and feedback from muscles and joints. The use of CDP technology helps therapists determine what area of the system is causing the balance dysfunction or dizziness. This technology is unique to our clinic and is used in both assessment and treatment of patients.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Our facility offers evaluation and treatment for dizziness, vertigo and balance difficulties due to positional vertigo, head injury, whiplash, labyrinthitis, stroke and multiple falls. Computerized dynamic posturography evaluates the inner ear, eyes and extremities and their contribution to balance. An individualized program of movement exercise, visualmotor coordination, balance training, safety education and ways to compensate for permanent damage will be a part of your therapy.

LSVT® BIG

Physical therapists and occupational therapist with special training provide an evidenced based protocol for the improvement of movement for those diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease. These movements can then be generalized for different functional activities and situations. Initial results of research show that LSVT BIG training leads to; faster walking with bigger steps, better balance, increased trunk motion, and improved quality of life.

Graston Technique®

Graston Technique is an innovative, patented form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and other soft tissue restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to specifically detect and effectively treat areas exhibiting soft tissue fibrosis or chronic inflammation. This intervention requires specialized training and is a technique unique to our facility.

Lymphedema Management

Comprehensive decongestive physical therapy is provided for patients with mild to moderate lymphedema, an abnormal swelling condition brought on by cancer, genetic abnormalities or multiple surgical procedures. Treatments include skin care, compression bandaging and lymphatic drainage massage and patient education. Your treatment program may include land and/or aquatic exercise to facilitate lymphatic drainage.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is incorporated in treatment for patients who require soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization or myofascial release. To help reduce stiffness and restore joint motion, therapists use manual therapy in conjunction with therapeutic exercise and patient education to accelerate recovery from musculoskeletal injuries.

Sports Therapy

The goal of an injured athlete is to return to their previous level of competition as quickly as possible. Our sports therapy program promotes recovery, injury prevention and peak performance through physical therapy.

Spine Rehabilitation

Our focus is to promote optimal function following spinal injuries, surgery or chronic pain. We incorporate flexibility and strengthening exercises, education on posture and body mechanics, manual therapy and aerobic conditioning. Each individual’s diagnosis is unique and our program recognizes this throughout the healing process.

Therapists are trained in basic water safety and CPR and will design aquatic exercise programs using water to address deficits in strength, flexibility, conditioning and function.
