Visitor Guidelines

Dear Patients and Visitors:

At Rush-Copley, we promise to do everything possible to ensure our patient’s safety.  While we welcome visitors to the hospital, some units have visiting guidelines to help prevent infection and increase the safety of our patients.  The Women’s Health Unit has established the following guidelines in order to prevent exposing our newborn patients to contagious diseases:

  • Visitation is available for children 12 years and older.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be a sibling and provide a completed health screening form prior to entering the unit.
  • Siblings who have completed a health screening form will be given a sticker to wear while visiting the unit.  The form must be reviewed each time the child visits and a new sticker will be provided.

In addition, any visitors who may be ill, with symptoms such as coughing, fever or sore throat should not visit until they are well.  All visitors should also clean their hands using soap and water or alcohol hand sanitizer.

We understand that unusual circumstances regarding a patient or family may occur.  Should a need arise; please ask to speak with a nursing supervisor about special arrangements.

Thank you for taking part in protecting the safety of all our patients by following the visitation guidelines for the Women’s Health Unit.

Sincerely,

Your Patient Care Team at Rush-Copley’s Birthing Center
