Surgical Services

The Rush-Copley Surgery Center performs more than 8,000 surgeries a year in a state-of-the art facility. Surgeons today are performing more and more procedures on a same-day basis. More complex surgeries may still require overnight stays, however advances in medicine and technology are helping to speed recoveries.
Rush-Copley's affiliation with Rush University Medical Center in Chicago brings an added level of comfort. Physicians affiliated with Rush University Medical Center often perform surgery at Rush-Copley, bringing university-level care to a community hospital setting.
The staff at Rush-Copley is dedicated to providing the highest quality health care in an efficient and resourceful manner. We encourage patients to participate in decisions about their care, and we believe no concern is too small to address. It's our promise to do everything possible to ensure your comfort during your visit.
The Day Surgery area within the Surgery Center features 24 private rooms, giving families the chance to be together before and after surgery. A centrally located nurses' station enables staff to closely monitor patients. Patients who receive light anesthetics or sedation and who are expected to go home the same day will receive care in the Day Surgery area before and after their procedures. Patients requiring general anesthetics for their procedures will be prepared for surgery in these rooms. They will return to the appropriate care center after their initial recovery in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
