Inpatient Rehabilitation

Rush-Copley is home to the comprehensive Physical Rehabilitation Center, a specialized care area with 12 private rooms for patients needing inpatient rehabilitation. A custom designed care plan is created for each patient by the multidisciplinary team of rehab specialists, each of whom maintains professional excellence by regularly attending advanced specialty courses and continuing education seminars. Strategies for improvement are based on the patient's individual ability and goals.  Care is managed closely by a rehabilitation physician. 

Admission criteria:

• Physician order and referral is needed.
• Patient must be neurologically and medically stable.
• Patient must need 2 disciplines to qualify for in-patient rehab area - physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language pathology.
• Patient is able to tolerate three hours of combined therapies per day.
• Patient is cognitively alert.
• Functional improvement of patient's condition is anticipated in a reasonable amount of time.
• Patient needs and has the potential to benefit from comprehensive, individualized and interdisciplinary rehabilitation services.
