Cardiac Rehab

Cardiac Rehabilitation
Patients who require cardiopulmonary rehabilitation following treatment for a heart problem or to improve lung capacity before surgery may complete their exercise programs in a specially designed area located at the Rush-Copley's Heart Institute on the medical center’s campus. Patients have access to stationary bicycles, treadmills, rowing machines and other fitness equipment to help them increase their heart and lung capacity and build strength. All sessions are supervised by Institute staff nurses.
Support Group
Rush-Copley sponsors a cardiac support group for patients with heart disease. The group is open to anyone with a history of heart problems and their families. Physicians and other healthcare professionals speak on a variety of educational topics. Group members may also attend training to serve as special volunteers, providing support and encouragement to hospitalized heart patients. For more information, please call 630-499-2391.
