Bedside Testing

Faster diagnosis means faster emergency treatment.  Therefore a number of tests can be run from your bedside.   A new blood test can now indicate if a patient is experiencing a heart attack.  Results are available within five minutes.

Portable Ultrasound

A portable ultrasound allows emergency medicine physicians and staff to check patients for internal injuries without transferring patients to other departments. This means a quicker and more comfortable treatment.

Rush-Copley also offers advanced diagnostic imaging.

Bedside Registration

In order to expedite patient care, Rush-Copley staff evaluate patients in our Triage area. Patients are then escorted immediately to an open exam room where care can begin as soon as possible. Registration information can be obtained bedside in order to increase comfort and privacy for our patients.

Decontamination Unit

An important addition to the Emergency Department is a mobile decontamination unit that can be used in the event of a chemical spill, agricultural accident or following exposure to biological or radiologic agents.  The unit is used to decontaminate victims onsite before transporting them to the hospital, reducing the risk of exposure for patients and staff.
