J.D. Power and Associates has recognized Rush-Copley’s Emergency Department in its first ever Distinguished Emergency Department Program as a provider of an outstanding patient experience.  Rush-Copley has the busiest Emergency Department in the Fox Valley area, serving nearly 70,000 patients each year.  The hospital is near completing an expansion of the current emergency department that will double the space available to accommodate the growth of the community. 

“I believe the quality care, quick turn-around times and the staff in the emergency department have made this recognition possible, “ said Nancy Wilson, assistant vice-president of ancillary operations for Rush-Copley.  “To be able to achieve this recognition while the emergency department was under construction is a testament to the incredible care that the staff at Rush-Copley provides to each and every one of our patients.”

Rush-Copley exceeded the national benchmark study score for overall emergency department satisfaction. High ratings were given for treating patients with dignity and respect, respect for privacy and courtesy of the nurses.

Rush-Copley also performed well relative to the national study in providing emotional support to patients during their visit to the emergency department, especially on the confidence and trust in the radiology personnel’s skill level and on the treatment of family and friends.
