Rush-Copley Foundation has received a donation from its youngest donors ever. Cameron Myre, age 7, along with his siblings, 5-year-old Brett and 3-year-old Annika, recently presented Barbara Graham with the $45 they raised during a Kool-Aid, donut and candy sale.
According to their mother, Karin Myre, Cameron asked if he could donate the money they collected to Rush-Copley. When asked why he wanted to give their hard-earned dollars to the hospital, the budding philanthropist replied, “so we can help the sick children.” Karin and Matt Myre also matched their children’s donation to the Foundation.
“I am so proud to accept this donation from the Myre children,” said Barbara Graham. “Their generosity shows that philanthropy and giving can happen at any age and in any amount.”
Karin Myre says that her children are already asking when they can have another sale to raise money for the hospital as they plan to make this a regular event for their family.
