Scholarly Activities
Scholarly activity has been defined as original and creative work that is shared with colleagues. We encourage and support each other in the pursuit of scholarly activities. Read below for some of our recent activities.
Dr. Elham Yousef presented “A Case of Unresolving Pneumonia and Bronchorrhea” at the 31st National Annual Meeting of the Society of General Internal Medicine in Pittsburgh. “I was the only family medicine resident who was presenting in an international internal medicine meeting, so interacting with the other residents, fellows, and attendings was a great experience for me.” What did she learn from the experience? “I learned how to prepare and present an oral presentation. That is an art unto itself! As much as I was nervous, I was so amazed with the knowledge I gained doing this. Overall, it was a great learning experience for me.”
Our Residency hosted its first Annual CME Event in 2009! Our topic, “Primary Care: The Big Remodel”, focused on the Patient Centered Medical Home, “An Innovative Strategy for Lean Scheduling and Same Day Access”, and “Integrating Behavioral Health into Primary Care”. The turnout was exceptional. Attendees included those from our surrounding hospitals, private practice physicians and a health department physician.
