Three Years of Distinction: It's the Proof of Our Promise

Rush-Copley's Promise, a code of conduct that guides us in delivering extraordinary care to our patients, is paramount in helping us meet and exceed the expectations of our patients and guests.

As proof of our Promise, J.D. Power and Associates, the world's leading independent marketing information firm, has recognized Rush-Copley as a Distinguished a provider of an Outstanding Patient Experience for the third consecutive year

"To receive this recognition again validates Rush-Copley's focus on providing an outstanding patient experience," said Barry C. Finn, president and CEO of Rush-Copley.  "It also demonstrates our staff's commitment to service excellence to our patients and their families."

The research focused on five key drivers of patient satisfaction:  dignity and respect; speed and efficiency; comfort; information and communication; and emotional support.  Based on the rigorous standards of J.D. Powers and Associates national hospital service performance research, only 20 percent of the hospitals in the nation were qualified to achieve this distinction, putting Rush-Copley in an elite class of hospitals.

Rush-Copley exceeded the national benchmark study score for overall patient satisfaction by a notable margin.  High ratings were given to the hospital's nursing services exceeding the J.D. Power benchmark for many nursing-related indicators.

In addition, our Emergency Department, which was undergoing significant renovation, is also recognized for achieving superior satisfaction.

"I believe the quality of care, quick turn-around times and the staff in the emergency department have made this recognition possible, " said Nancy Wilson, assistant vice-president of ancillary operations for Rush-Copley.  "To be able to achieve this recognition while the emergency department was under construction is a testament to the incredible care that the staff at Rush-Copley provides to each and every one of our patients."

Rush-Copley's Emergency Department was the first in the region to earn this distinction.
