Rush-Copley Partners with Kendall County Senior Services for Community Programming

(January 3, 2007) — Rush-Copley Medical Center and Kendall County Senior Services are pleased to announce their partnership to bring health and wellness education programs to Kendall County seniors.

Beginning in January, Rush-Copley physicians and healthcare professionals will conduct talks twice a month on health issues that affect seniors at the Beecher Community Center, 908 Game Farm Road in Yorkville. The talks are part of Kendall County Senior Services "Wellness is Way of Life" program series.

"Rush-Copley is happy to be providing this much needed and sought after education to seniors," said Susan Heriaud, community relations associate with Rush-Copley. "As Kendall County continues to grow, we are proud to strengthen our partnership by providing increased services to this community."

Programs for January include the following:

Pneumonia
Thursday, January 10 • 10 to 11a.m.

Nazima, Mustafa, M.D., an internal medicine physician with Aurora Internal Medicine, will present an informative discussion on pneumonia. Dr. Mustafa will discuss common symptoms, treatment options, causes, risk factors associated with pneumonia and more.

Sleep as We Grow Older
Thursday, January 24 • 10 to 11a.m.

Jon Doud, M.D., FCCP, from the Midwest Center for Sleep Disorders will discuss sleep as it relates to health and disease. There will be an overview of sleep disorders that become more prevalent as people grow older.

Rush-Copley Healthcare Center Coming Soon to Yorkville

In addition to bringing community programming to Kendall County, Rush-Copley Healthcare Center will be completed in 2008, bringing needed medical services to Yorkville and the surrounding communities. The center will include ambulatory care services, including urgent care and occupational health and diagnostic services including CT, general radiology, ultrasound, mammography, bone densitometry and MRI. The plan also includes physician offices to be comprised of primary care, OB and other specialties like oncology. A conference center for community health programming is also part of the project. Rush-Copley Healthcare Center will be located at 1100 West Veterans Parkway, along the south side of Veterans Parkway (Route 34) just west of the Kendall County Government Center.
