Rush-Copley Rolling on the River
Third Annual Illinois Ride for the Environment
(Aurora, Ill.) – Join Rush-Copley as we ride to protect and improve Illinois’ environment for future generations. Rolling on the River, a cycling event for the Illinois environment, will be held on Saturday, August 16 in Yorkville.
Rolling on the River features a choice of one-day rides from a casual cruise (15 miles) to a weekend warrior workout (100 miles) and many other ride options in between. All routes begin and end at the Kendall County Fairgrounds in Yorkville. The three statewide charities benefiting from Rolling on the River are Illinois Environmental Council Education Fund, Prairie Rivers Network and Illinois Stewardship Alliance.Collectively the missions of these groups address key issues affecting the health and safety of the people and wildlife of Illinois.
“Rush-Copley is proud to be the title sponsor of this fun and meaningful event for the environment,” said Barry C. Finn, President and CEO of Rush-Copley Medical Center and Rush-Copley Healthcare Center in Yorkville. “As a partner of Yorkville and Kendall County, we continue to look for ways to support the medical and environmental needs of this community.”
Rolling on the River’s beautiful, fully-supported, routes traverse the low traffic, rolling hills of the Fox River valley. Cyclists will cross the river multiple times, travel through scenic countryside and the towns of Millbrook, Millington, Sheridan and Plano. The event will also feature an organic cookout, environmental fest and roundtable talks, entertainment and other family- friendly outdoor activities.
Sponsorships for the event are still available and environmental expo is seeking area organizations to participate.
