Rush-Copley Program Helps Families Get FitFamilyFIT

(Aurora, Ill.) Helping families achieve a healthy balance of good eating habits and physical activity may seem impossible, especially when coupled with work commitments, school and more. That’s why Rush-Copley Medical Group and Rush-Copley Healthplex have teamed up to create a healthy weight lifestyle program that gets families fit.

The FamilyFIT (Fitness, Information, Transformation) program is different than fad diets or gimmicky promises because it focuses on the importance of combining physical activity with nutritional guidance along with information and resources that will help guide each member of the family toward achieving a healthy weight. FamilyFIT also provides tools and techniques to help remove barriers to success all leading toward new attitudes and behaviors that will transform adults and kids (recommended ages 8 – 15).

Participants learn from a variety of experts including Rush-Copley physicians, Healthplex personal trainers and registered dietitians. This program includes:

• Twice weekly sessions — one that focuses on nutrition and behavior strategies and one that includes family exercise with a personal trainer
• 6-week Healthplex membership
• Custom nutritional guides and tools developed by Sodexo dietitians
• Pedometer(s)
• Logs, apps and other resources.
