Rush-Copley Sports Medicine Opening in Aurora
(Aurora, IL.) – Rush-Copley Sports Medicine, a Rush-Copley Medical Group practice, will be opening in Aurora on May 1.
Led by Deepak Patel, M.D., FAAFP, FACSM, who is board-certified in primary care sports medicine, Rush-Copley Sports Medicine will provide superior care for non-athletes and athletes at all levels.
Services at Rush-Copley Sports Medicine include:

- Overuse injuries (tendonitis) care
- Sprains and strains treatment
- Osteoarthritis treatment
- Routine fracture and stress fracture care
- Joint injections for treatment of tendonitis, osteoarthritis, and overuse injuries
Dr. Patel also cares for sports-related concerns including exercise-induced asthma, concussions, return to play/activity evaluation and sports physicals.
Throughout his career, Dr. Patel has served as the team physician for Division I universities including Eastern Michigan University and University of Toledo, provided event coverage for University of Michigan, semi-professional sports teams and high schools. He has authored and co-authored publications and textbooks on family medicine and sports medicine topics. Dr. Patel serves as the Director of Sports Medicine at Rush-Copley Family Medicine Residency and as an Assistant Professor at Rush Medical College.
