Parkinson's Support Group Now Available at Rush-Copley

(January 25, 2011) Rita Tranquilli, M.D., a Psychiatrist and Neurologist from Alliance Clinical Associates in Wheaton, will present at Rush-Copley's Parkinson's Disease Support Group on Wednesday, February 2, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.

Fluctuations of non-motor symptoms are common in Parkinson's disease, but are often unrecognized unless a physician specifically asks about them.  These fluctuations can be manifested as severe mood swings in a Parkinson's patient.  Dr. Tranquilli will discuss these non-motor aspects of Parkinson's and provide tools for coping or alleviating symptoms.

The Parkinson's Disease Support Group meets the first Wednesday of every month from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Rush Copley Medical Center in Aurora.  There is no cost to attend the support group and family members or care partners are welcome.  For more information, visit or call 866-4COPLEY (1-866-426-7539).
