Meet Our Residents

Syed Rahman, M.D., Chief Resident

Syed Rahman, M.D. was born and raised in Worcester, Massachusetts. He received his bachelors degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston, MA. He then received his medical degree from the Windsor University School of Medicine. Dr. Rahman's medical interests include acute care, hospital medicine, and sports medicine. He has gone on medical relief trips as a medical student and plans to continue throughout his career. In his free time, Dr. Rahman enjoys spending time with family, working out, and playing a variety of sports, especially football.



Britain O'Connor, M.D.

Britain O’Connor, M.D. is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine. She was born and raised in Nebraska. Dr. O'Connor completed her undergraduate studies in biology and history at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Her interests within family medicine include international medicine, urgent care, and rural practice. In her spare time, Dr. O’Connor enjoys cooking, playing piano, film photography, and catching up on episodes of Dr. Who. 

Ankitaben Patel, M.D.

Ankitaben Patel, M.D. is from Rancho Cucamonga, California. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California and a graduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated from Ross University and has a strong interest in geriatrics and inpatient care.
In her spare time Dr. Patel enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and swimming.

Manish Rochwani, M.D.

Manish Rochwani, M.D. was born and raised in India before moving to the United States at 13. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and received his M.D. from Ross University. His interests in family medicine include sports medicine, preventive medicine, and urgent care.

In his free time, Dr. Rochwani enjoys working out, spending time with family and friends. He enjoys traveling and watching and playing tennis, basketball and football.

Sean Kennedy, M.D.

Sean Kennedy, M.D., is an Illinois native. He grew up in Oak Brook and received his undergraduate degree in Biology at Elmhurst College. He then completed his medical degree at Ross University School of Medicine. Dr. Kennedy's medical interests include preventative medicine and urgent care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kennedy enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, playing golf, studying World War II history, and watching the Bears and Blackhawks.

Sean Kennedy, MD

Behnam Majd, M.D.

Behnam Majd, M.D., was raised in Norway till he was 15 before moving to Houston Texas. He attended University of Houston where he received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Furthermore, he received his medical Degree from Ross University.

Dr. Majd’s medical interests include hospital medicine, sports medicine and emergency medicine. During his free time Dr Majd enjoys working out, sports, traveling and shows such as Game of Thrones.

Henry Sung, M.D.

Henry Sung, M.D., was born in Taiwan before moving to the suburbs of Los Angeles in second grade. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology from University of California, Riverside. He then worked as an EMT for a couple of years before obtaining his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine.

Dr Sung’s medical interest includes preventative care and urgent care. In his spare time, he enjoys watching movies with his wife, photography, video games, and playing sports.

Henry Sung, MD

Ashwin Venkataraman M.D.

Ashwin Venkataraman M.D., was born in Takoma Park Maryland and spent half of his childhood in the Washington D.C. area before he and his family moved to Southlake, Texas, home of the Carroll Dragons. There he was part of the inaugural class of the Carroll Medical Academy as well as was captain of the Computer Science and State Championship Robotics team. He attended Texas Tech University where he received a degree in Biology and translated his hobby of computer science to a minor. Afterwards he went to the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center for medical school. His passions in medicine include pediatrics, bioinformatics, personalized medicine, and healthcare systems.

Outside of the medical world his interests include animals of all sorts (especially dog), programming, as well as working out, football, ultimate frisbee, and cricket.

Ashwin Venkataraman, MD

Maria Gamboa, M.D.

Maria Gamboa, M.D., was born in Northern California, but was raised in Los Angeles. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine and pursued her medical degree abroad from the University of the East, Ramon Magsaysay. Her interests are in preventive health care and providing comprehensive care to the patient and their families. In her free time, she keeps in touch with friends and family, enjoys cooking, and plays golf.

Sanam Shah, M.D.

Sanam Shah, M.D., is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine. She was born and raised in Chicago, IL, where she completed her undergraduate studies in Biology at Loyola University in Chicago, and graduate studies in Biomedical Sciences and Health Care Administration at Rosalind Franklin University. Her interests within family medicine include inpatient care, as well as emergency medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, visiting downtown Chicago, watching movies, trying out new recipes, and dancing.

Sanam Shah, MD

Daniel Murphy MS, M.D.

Daniel Murphy MS, M.D., grew up in Akron, Ohio. He received his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences with a Business Administration minor from Fordham University in New York, New York. He went on to earn a master’s degree at Philadelphia College of Medicine in Biomedical Research, where his area of research was mesenchymal stem cells. He then earned his medical degree from Ross University, School of Medicine. Dr. Murphy’s professional interests include preventative medicine, quality improvement, healthcare systems, and wilderness medicine. Outside of the hospital, he enjoys keeping active, mainly outdoors, traveling, and relaxing with family and friends.

Daniel Murphy, M.S., M.D.

Kinsley Jin, M.D.

Kinsley Jin, M.D., is from Toronto, Canada. He received his Bachelor’s of Science in Neuroscience from Brown University in Rhode Island. He then completed his medical degree at Ross University. He is both interested in hospital and outpatient medicine. During his free time Dr. Jin enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing softball and ultimate Frisbee, and watching various shows on Netflix.
