Curriculum Overview

A significant portion of the resident experience takes place at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois.
All clinical rotations are intended to provide a structured, comprehensive experience to fully train family medicine physicians. Each rotation provides residents with appropriate supervision, yet allows residents to take increasing responsibility in decision making and management of patients. This approach reinforces the development of competent technical and clinical skills.
In addition to clinical rotations, residents follow their own panel of patients in the Family Medicine Center (FMC). Under faculty supervision, residents spend increasing time in the FMC. Emphasis is placed on caring for undifferentiated patients of all ages. Preventive care is stressed in addition to the care of common ambulatory problems, low risk obstetrics, and practice management.
